Welcome to the Science and Agriculture IT Boot Camp.

To be successful in online learning, you will require some basic hardware capabilities and software for study.

Moodle is an online learning platform used to provide resources, activities, and announcements for your units and to facilitate the submission of assignments. Moodle is also used for discussion forums within unit, course, and community sites and Moodle Messaging as well as providing access to online video conferencing which support academic interactions within and outside of formal teaching.

As a part of most science and agriculture units you will be required to participate in group activities, discussions, and forum. Competent use of online meeting and communication software will make this phase simpler, particularly when you can't meet everybody face-to-face. You will also be required to engage in some practical activities either as a video/webinar experience, an interactive online session, or have hands on activities to complete around the home, or outdoors. Most materials will be available through Moodle, but make sure you have access to other platforms flagged for each particular unit. For most units, assignments are submitted electronically on Moodle which will require you to download certain software onto your devices so that you are well equipped with the appropriate programs to complete your assignments. For other unit assessment tasks, you will be required to actively post in discussion forums in Moodle (including Zoom chat and breakout rooms).

It is your responsibility to be technologically capable and competent to study online (i.e. you should be computer literate and Internet experienced).
