This course is for researchers and their assistants who perform any work with poultry. Online training in the relevant Animal Ethics Committee listed skill(s) or procedure(s) must be completed prior to practical training and/or competency assessment. No person is permitted to perform these listed skills or procedures at any UNE site until they have been assessed as competent by the Animal Welfare Officer or approved assessor.

Each Animal Ethics Committee listed skill or procedure forms a module, and includes a variety of presentations, resources and a quiz. A grade of 100% in each quiz is required and you will be allowed three attempts at the quiz to obtain this grade. Some modules are compulsory to complete, and others need to be completed only if you plan to perform that skill or procedure as part of your research work.

Completion of the UNE Animal Welfare and Ethics Course, or equivalent through an alternative institution, is pre-requisite. Once you have completed the relevant modules, please contact the Animal Welfare Officer to arrange practical training (if required) and competency assessment.
