Introduction

Available to current UNE staff only, this unit introduces you to the principles of curriculum development in a higher education context. Presented from a student-centred perspective, you will explore the key principles of curriculum and learning design, examining how these can be used to guide the creation of high-quality learning environments. You will also design and plan your own sequence of learning activities and/or program(s) of study, so you can refine your skills and highlight your capabilities.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. critically evaluate a range of curriculum design models in a higher education context;
2. identify appropriate learning design models for a range of scenarios; and
3. design learning environments to support quality learning providing supporting evidence for the design decisions made.
