Specific learning objectives

Students should:

  1. Demonstrate the skills of identifying conditions that lead to change in voice
  2. Identify the aetiology of hoarseness and the progress of the disease by taking a focused history
  3. List important differential diagnosis on a patient who is suffering with hoarseness
  4. Gauge current health status of patient by performing a focused but thorough examination
  5. Identify imaging modalities and further investigations to rule out differential diagnoses
  6. Demonstrate the skills of interpreting and explanation of flexible laryngoscopy report.

Skills mastered

Students should:

  1. Demonstrate the skills of a head, eyes, ear, nose and throat (HEENT) exam
  2. Demonstrate the skills of interpreting neck lump findings
  3. Demonstrate the skills of interpreting histopathology report, head and neck CT and X-rays of neck and chest.
