Specific learning objectives

Students should:

  1. List important differential diagnosis of a patient who has presented with a breast lump
  2. Identify the aetiology of breast cancer and the progress of the disease by taking a focused history
  3. Gauge current health status of patient by performing a focused but thorough examination
  4. Identify imaging modalities and further investigations to rule out differential diagnoses
  5. Objectively analyse the effects of overdiagnosis associated with screening.

Skills mastered

Students should:

  1. Demonstrate the skills of a breast lump history
  2. Demonstrate the skills of a breast examination
  3. Demonstrate the skills of axillary lymph node examination.
