Specific learning objectives
Students should:
- Identify the aetiology of ischaemic heart disease
- Identify the clinical manifestations of ischaemic heart disease
- Identify the indication and contraindications to having coronary artery bypass graft surgery
- Identify the difficulties and complications with performing coronary artery bypass graft surgery
- Gauge current health status of patient by performing a focused but thorough examination
- Identify imaging modalities and appropriate further investigations prior to coronary artery bypass graft surgery.

- Demonstrate the skills of appropriate history taking
- Demonstrate the skills of a cardiac examination.
