Students should:
- Demonstrate the basic principles behind management of peripheral vascular disease and compare the risks and benefits of conservative management Vs surgical management.
- Demonstrate the basic principles of conservative management of PVD
- Demonstrate the basic principles of the surgical management of PVD and compare the endo vascular approach Vs open by-pass surgery in terms of risks and benefits.
- Demonstrate the potential risks of open by-pass surgery.
Skills mastered
Students should:
- Demonstrate the skills of pre-operative discussions
- Demonstrate effective communication with a patient apprehensive about a procedure
