Specific learning objectives
Students should:
- Understand the aetiology of traumatic brain injury
- Discuss the principles of primary and secondary brain injury
- Recognise the difference in presentation, clinically and on imaging, between the different intracranial haemorrhages
- Discuss acute management of a patient with an intracranial haemorrhage
Skills mastered
Students should:
- Demonstrate the skills of evaluating a patient’s GCS
- Demonstrate the skills of interpreting CT head
- Demonstrate the skills of interpreting a trauma series.
