Students should:

  1. Identify the aetiology of abdominal aortic aneurysms
  2. Identify the clinical manifestations of abdominal aortic aneurysms
  3. Understand the principles of investigations for AAA
  4. Identify the indication and contraindications to having abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery
  5. Identify the difficulties and complications with performing abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery
  6. Gauge current health status of patient by performing a focused but thorough examination
  7. Identify imaging modalities and appropriate further investigations prior to abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery.

Skills mastered

Students should:

  1. Demonstrate the skills of a vascular surgery history
  2. Demonstrate the skills of a vascular examination.
