Specific learning objectives
Students should:
- Demonstrate the skills of identifying common colorectal conditions
- List important differential diagnosis on a patient who is suffering with PR bleeding
- Identify the aetiology of colorectal cancer and the progress of the disease by taking a focused history
- Gauge current health status of patient by performing a focused but thorough examination
- Identify imaging modalities and further investigations to rule out differential diagnoses
- Demonstrate the basic principles of management of colorectal cancer including medical and surgical managements.
Skills mastered
Students should:
- Demonstrate the skills of abdominal examination
- Demonstrate the skills of interpreting per rectal examination findings
- Demonstrate the skills of interpreting endoscopy report, CT and MRI abdomen.
