Mr Fallon has been referred by his GP to a local bariatric surgeon for assessment of possible gastric sleeve. He has a BMI of 37 and had been unsuccessful with other methods of weight loss to date. He is 175cm tall and weighs 114kg. Mr Fallon has previously been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea, for which he uses CPAP nightly. He has also recently commenced metformin for a new diagnosis of T2DM.

Mr Fallon has tried dieting and different exercise regimens multiple times with little success. He has been advised by the GP that bariatric surgery may be an option and he has now been contemplating the options for some months.
