Patient was BIBA to the Armidale Hospital Emergency Department after a high speed MVA. He was traveling alone at 100km/hr on the New England Highway north of Armidale in the early hours of the morning and swerved to avoid a kangaroo. He lost control and hit a tree on the side of the road. He was not wearing a seatbelt. He wasn’t able to self-extricate from the vehicle due to severe pain in both of his legs. There was a period of LOC but the length of time is unclear. Another motorist came across the accident and called for an ambulance. |

Patient is completing a building apprenticeship through Armidale Construction Group. He share-houses with another apprentice in Armidale. He is currently single but has the support of his family and a strong group of friends. He is a lifelong non-smoker, will binge drink on the weekends and occasionally uses cannabis. |
