FHx

Father died of laryngeal cancer; mother is alive and in high-level care nursing home with end stage renal disease. No siblings.

SHx

Patient lives with wife and 3 children in Armidale. He works as a librarian in the town library. He quit smoking 4 years ago when he was first diagnosed with COPD; he has a 20 pack year history. He does not drink alcohol and follows a strict vegan diet. He is a member of a local swim squad that meets 3 times a week.
