Mr Tucker had a CT with IV contrast on the day of admission though ED showing a right inguinal hernia with incarcerated small bowel. There was no free air and no current concerns of preformation. Mr Tucker underwent a successful emergency Lichtenstein hernia mesh repair 4 days ago. All the bowel appeared viable and therefore no resection was required. He started passing wind 2 days ago and opened his bowels this morning. The patient has noticed some increased pain and oozing at the wound site. The wound was closed with subcuticular vicryl and had no post-op issues. Over the last few hours, there has been some new incision site pain. The wound spontaneously dehisced at the medial aspect with some purulent discharge. |
