Mrs Watson had a post-operative bile leak diagnosed on CT scan. The abdominal CT showed that there was frank, diffuse biliary peritonitis. The patient was given IV Gentamycin and IV Ampicillin 2g Q6H. Mrs Watson required operative exploration, washout and bile duct repair. She is now 4 days post bile duct repair with only mild post-op pain. Her WCC is coming down, she is now passing wind again, tolerating a free fluid diet and still has a bellovac drain in situ. |
