The Master of Professional Psychology is offered online and provides a fifth year of professional training for those with an accredited four-year undergraduate sequence in psychology. The Master of Professional Psychology is an accredited fifth year degree on the 5+1 internship pathway to General Registration as a psychologist.
The Master of Professional Psychology at UNE includes the completion of a
simulated practicum, undertaken in the final trimester of study. This involves students engaging in 300 hours of simulated practice under supervision where students gain
exposure to a representative range of clients and presenting difficulties and
have the opportunity to develop skills in assessment, diagnosis, formulation,
intervention, case note and report writing, and competencies in ethical and
professional practice across the lifespan.
