Patient has been increasingly unable to void properly. GP referred to urology clinic. The decision was made to admit patient for a biopsy. Prior to that the patient had a 12-month history of lower urinary tract symptoms (predominately voiding symptoms), including hesitancy, weak stream, post void dribbling and feeling of incomplete emptying. Sometimes he had urinary incontinence, especially at night. |

Mother died from a post partum haemorrhage with the younger brother. Father died of a massive heart attack at age 72. Both younger brothers also have type 2 diabetes mellitus. The youngest recently had a stroke and ended up in a nursing home. |

Patient lives with his wife in Tamworth. He is a retired bus driver. He acts as the carer for his wife who has Alzheimer’s disease. He has two children who live locally and are very supportive. He is a non-smoker and drinks three to four glasses of red wine each night, and catches up with some friends on the weekend for bowls and then up to six beers. |
