Mr Wattle has been referred by his GP to a local vascular surgery clinic for assessment of his abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). This was an incidental finding by the GP when the patient attended the practice for a regular check-up. The GP could palpate a pulsatile and expansible central abdominal mass. There didn’t appear to be any other notable findings on the vascular exam. The GP arranged an abdominal ultrasound scan which revealed a 5.7cm AAA. They have since referred the patient on to the vascular surgery clinic for further assessment and possible management. |
