HPC

The patient had his colonoscopy and is awaiting the histopathology results, which are available this morning. Due to his low iron, he remained an inpatient for an iron transfusion. The patient has adenocarcinoma of the rectum and the surgical consultant has advised the patient on the earlier ward round that he will require a laparoscopic low anterior resection.
