UNE Moodle went live on Monday July 11, 2011 for all UNE students. This has followed a successful pilot of UNE Moodle with the Graduate School of Business in Trimester II. A report from Google analytics on Monday showed a massive jump in traffic in UNE Moodle due to the release of Semester 2 units. For the last couple of weeks the number of visits per day sat around 1,200 to 2,200 - yesterday it jumped to over 10,000 visits to Moodle. This has been a huge undertaking by the teaching staff of UNE to get their new sites ready and of course the support of educational design and administrative staff cannot be underestimated. Over 600 sites have been developed in Moodle for Semester 2. Besides the added web 2.0 functionality that comes with Moodle, ITD have developed a UNE Moodle site creation tool, which allows teaching staff to self-create a teaching site at any time, well in advance of any teaching period. Well done everyone!
